Feasibility

Stage duration: 1 month

We undertake initial surveys to define the solar farm site boundary within available lands.

This feasibility stage also assesses substation and grid connection requirements, landscape and environmental aspects and the needs of adjacent and future landowners.

Lease and Ownership

Stage duration: 2 months

We work with the landowner to take an option for lease on the solar farm lands, which allows us to progress planning and grid connection consents.

Terra Solar will cover the cost of landowners’ legal advice for the lease option process.

Grid Connection and Planning Permission

Stage duration: 12 months

Once the option for lease is signed, Terra Solar will finalise design work and apply for planning permission both the solar farm and grid connection, liaising with local government and communities and considering the natural environment.

During this period, the landowner can continue to use the lands as before.

Development

Stage duration: 24 months

The lease of the solar farm lands commences once construction begins.

On completion, the solar farm is operational and generates renewable electricity which is fed into the National Grid.
